Hiding Desktop Icons on the Mac
This is my first tutorial video on youtube in quite some time, so don’t be too harsh with the criticism. I didn’t even talk on this one cause I’m so out of practice. I see and hear people ask about this more often than you would think. It’s an easy task, really…getting all those desktop icons off of your desktop. Just follow the tip outlined in this video, and you’ll be good to go. One [...]

Handling E-Mail In The Mail App On The Mac
Organizing Your E-Mail Say you’ve been away from the internet for a few days (anything’s possible) and you come back to find your inbox completely flooded with messages and you don’t even know where to begin. Or you’re subscribed to quite a few mailing lists and the messages have just been piling up over the last few days. Or you’re really internet popular and everybody and their brother has been trying to get in touch [...]

Syncing Audio And Video in a Movie
Making audio and video sync up in a file using VLC is much easier than trying to do the same thing with QuickTime Pro. All I have to do in VLC, is keep pressing the F or G keys until i’ve finally matched the mouths moving to the words that are coming out of them. I’ve tried to achieve this same thing in QuickTime Pro before, but to no avail. It’s a much more difficult [...]

Apple iPad Switch
I don’t even own an iPad, but I can see why a consumer would have an issue with someone changing what the hard button on their machine does. There’s only one hard button on the machine I’m typing on. If someone changed it from being able to turn the computer off to muting the volume, I’d probably be pretty angry. Why do I feel a car analogy coming on? Oh, I don’t know. Hey, Steve. [...]

AT&T Blocks Again
It doesn’t surprise me at all that AT&T would strike a new deal with Apple, in order to remain the sole carrier for the iPhone’s internet access. They want to keep Verizon, or any other carrier, out of the game. As long as there is no competition, AT&T will be as happy as a pig in…some really, nasty stuff. I could keep rambling about this, but that’s all it really comes down to. AT&T doesn’t [...]

Verizon iPhone
A Verizon iPhone. Wouldn’t that be cool? That would kind of be like a dream come true. I could finally get an iPhone without having to sign my life away to AT&T. Yeah, I know you can get an iPhone now without having to sign a contract. You just can’t use it. Anyway. The iPhone would have more than one carrier, putting an end to the monopolistic business that’s been going on between Apple and [...]

Front Page
What is the deal with Joomla and this thing called “Front Page”? What does that mean? Does it mean that if I check that box while I’m posting that it will show up on the front page of my website along with the last blog post I did? Or does it mean that the post that goes on your front page is the “featured” post and that there can be only one? I don’t know. [...]

Joomla – First Impressions
So far, I’ve been able to install and run both WordPress and Joomla on this system using MAMP. The process wasn’t complicated at all. I haven’t, however, been able to install and run Drupal, and I don’t know why. That really sucks, too, because I really like their platform. But, if you can’t get it running, then what difference does that make? They should make it easier for people to install and configure a Drupal [...]

Search Engine Optimization
Is there really enough involved in SEO to even write an entire blog post about it? I don’t know. I mean, you blog about a trending topic, you add keywords to your post, add images with meta data to your posts, maybe even embed a youtube video with your post, give your pages a title with some keywords in it, submit your website to search engines to be indexed…I mean, what else is there, really? [...]
