Up The Volume In QuickTime Pro

Screen Shot 2012-04-18 at 7.45.27 PM

This is an easy one. And, yes, people still use QuickTime 7. In fact, pretty much anybody who has had anything to do with editing videos on the Mac for the last five or so years has been using QuickTime Pro for this purpose and they will continue to do so until QuickTime X actually gets updated like Apple “promised.” Rather than sit around and wait for it, though, we’ll just keep using QTP instead. Creating Custom Keyboard Shortcuts On The Mac

Keyboard System Preferences

I’m always using the zoom feature on the Mac to zoom in to a Flash video on the web, rather than going in to full screen. It helps save on processor power and possibly extends the life of my computer. I used to be able to do this by zooming in and then hitting command+L to and the Escape key to hide the cursor. However, after youtube changed their keyboard shortcuts on videos, the L [...]

Hiding Desktop Icons on the Mac

Screen Shot 2012-04-18 at 7.21.38 PM

This is my first tutorial video on youtube in quite some time, so don’t be too harsh with the criticism. I didn’t even talk on this one cause I’m so out of practice. I see and hear people ask about this more often than you would think. It’s an easy task, really…getting all those desktop icons off of your desktop. Just follow the tip outlined in this video, and you’ll be good to go. One [...]

Or you’re subscribed to quite a few mailing lists and the messages have just been piling up over the last few days. Or you’re really internet popular and everybody and their brother has been trying to get in touch [...]

Quick Look Enlarged Font

QuickLook Enlarged Font

Something nobody ever told me about Snow Leopard, which I’ve just been indulging in for almost a month now, is that when you are viewing a PDF in Quick Look and decide to go into full screen, that it resizes the font to make it bigger and easier to read. It doesn’t do that in Leopard. And then, when I go into full screen: And out of all the reviews I’ve read about Snow Leopard, [...]

This Is Me … Checking The News

Newspaper

Once again, it’s been too long since I’ve posted something on here. I figure if I don’t post something now, then it will be an even longer period of time before I post anything on here. Sometimes, I’ll check the news to see if there’s anything interesting to write about. I do find some topics that do interest me, but, a lot of the time I can’t really think of anything to add, or I [...]

Multiple User Issues

I wonder why, at first, I wasn’t able to run MAMP on multiple user accounts on my Mac. I think it had something to do with the number of databases allowed or something like that. Maybe it just had to do with not having the right files in the right directories in the right user account when you go to create content, or connect wordpress to a database. Or maybe it had to do with [...]
